Perkembangan Perekonomian Wilayah dan Kargo Udara: Korelasi atau Kausalitas?

Abstract

Transportasi sebagai permintaan turunan berada dalam perdebatan yang mengemukakan peranannya yang vital dalam perkembangan perekonomian di berbagai tingkatan. Paper ini berupaya untuk meneliti peranan tersebut, apakah kargo udara sebagai bagian dari transportasi udara memberikan stimulus dalam perkembangan perekonomian wilayah atau sebaliknya. Analisis yang dilakukan tidak hanya menguji korelasi tetapi juga kausalitas antara variabel-variabel perekonomian, yaitu tenaga kerja, kesejahteraan wilayah, dan pendapatan, dengan kargo udara. Kesimpulan yang diperoleh adalah adanya indikasi pengaruh sebab akibat dalam beberapa bagian dari hubungan antara keduanya yang diharapkan dapat mendukung penyusunan kebijakan terkait.
[The Development of Regional Economic and Air Freight: Correlation or Causality?] Transportation as derived demand is on debate that it plays important role in multi-level economic development. This paper examines that role whether air freight, as a part of air transportation, stimulates regional economic development or vice versa. The analysis examines not only correlation but also causality of trends between economic variables; employment, regional welfare, and income, with air freight transportation. The conclusions discusses on the indications of influence in the parts of relationship between variables that to be expected to support related policy-making.
